Kane County FCA Intern – Job Description

VISION/MISSION STATEMENT:

The FCA VISION is to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Our MISSION is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. The VALUES we stand by are that our relationships will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.


FCA INTERN POSITION PROFILE

The Internship experience is designed for college students who wish to develop their skills (communications, management, social media, etc.) while introducing them to various aspects of ministry through FCA, develop in discerning their calling and career and challenge them to grow in their relationship with Christ. Hours per week can vary and are flexible.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND OVERVIEW (includes, but not limited to):

  • Works directly with the Area Representatives and other FCA interns to facilitate a shared vision and mission of the ministry.
  • Personal & Spiritual Development: It is our primary goal to help our interns grow spiritually. We do that in a variety of ways: Reading of scripture, Book Reading: Select 2-3 books. (1-theology, 1-Ministry, 1-biography), 1on1 discipleship with FCA staff member,
  • Campus Ministry
  • Camp Ministry through partnership camps at Judson University (Elgin, IL) and Westminster Christian School (Elgin, IL)
  • Serve in specific roles to prepare for camps.
  • Social Media – Post promotional items and camp pictures on social media.
  • Coaches Ministry
  • Fundraising and Administrative Requirements (Send support letters before, during and after internship.These letters include personal updates, ministry updates, and financial information.)

FAITH-FINANCED MINISTRY

FCA is a faith-financed ministry and depends on the generosity of donors to support the ministry.

The FCA internship is paid. However, funds must be raised by the intern and paid to them in an honorarium of up to $800 per month. Interns serving with FCA may receive a nominal stipend for living related expenses during the course of the internship.
